Kim Kardashian was accused of violating US federal securities laws. The influencer admitted that she was paid $ 250,000 to post a story on EMAX that contained the hashtag #ad. She agreed to pay disgorgement of $ 250,000 plus interest, and a $ 1 million civil money penalty.
“This case is a reminder that, when celebrities or influencers endorse investment opportunities, including crypto asset securities, it doesn’t mean that those investment products are right for all investors,” Gary Gensler, chairman of the SEC, said.
As you can read in the SEC’s settlement order she has agreed not to promote crypto assets for the next three years, and to collaborate with an ongoing investigation.
EthereumMax (EMAX) has now lost more than 99% of its market value from last year’s highs. In other words, it is a dead and buried coin. So Kim, take care of perfumes and make-up and forget what doesn’t belong to you (i.e. Cryptocurrencies). Thank you.
